Staff Dental Implant Institute
Dr. Craig D. Cooper is a leader in the development and the advancement of dental implant surgery. His training combines the most advanced specialized education with extensive clinical experience. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, the Indiana University School of Dentistry and the Midwest Implant Institute, the largest private institution in the United States dedicated to teaching of dental implantology.
Dr. Cooper served as the Director of the Midwest Implant Institute's surgical faculty from 1988 to 1995. In addition to more than 25 years of experience in implant dentistry, he has placed over 20,000 dental implants since becoming involved in the field. Dr. Cooper is the only Board Certified implant surgeon in the State of Indiana that has a practice restricted to implant surgery.
Dr. Cooper spends many hours developing and advancing the field of implant science. He has lectured in over 20 foreign countries and in over 30 states. Dr. Cooper has published articles in the most prominent scientific journals and is also a contributing author to a textbook that is used by dental schools. The FDA entrusted him to help develop and approve the latest generation of dental implants before they were approved for sale to the dental practitioners in the United States. The American Academy of Implant Dentistry has awarded him Honored Fellowship status.
Dr. Cooper is active in organized implant dentistry. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and completed his term as President of the Academy in 1999. He served as the President of the Indianapolis District Dental Society in 1988.
Bobbie joined The Dental Implant Institute staff in 1997 and now serves as the Institute’s office manager. Bobbie has worked in dentistry for almost 40 years. In addition to her duties as the office manager, Bobbie started and continues to do an outreach program to educated the public on the many different procedures that are available using dental implants.
Bobbie has been a main podium speaker at several national meetings on dental implant office management. Bobbie directs courses at the Institute for doctors and their staff on how to build and maintain a dental implant practice.
Bobbie has two adult children and two grandchildren.
Christina joined the Institute staff in 2004. Christina brought 15 years of surgical assisting experience to The Dental Implant Institute. She has a good background in dental implant prosthetics and in addition to serving as a surgery assistant she does implant prosthetic training for the Institute, referring doctors and their staff.
Christina also holds a certificate as a pharmacy technician. She worked in a hospital pharmacy for 15 years.
Christina has two adult children and is a proud grandmother of two boys.
Jan graduated from Aristotle College in 1979 with a certificate in dental assisting. Jan started working for Dr. Cooper 1986. When the Dental Implant Institute opened, Jan became the head surgical assistant for the Institute. Jan has furthered her surgical assisting education at the Dental Implant Institute in Columbus, Ohio. Jan has taught surgical assisting at several major dental schools across the United States. She is the Director of Surgical Assisting training for courses held at the Dental Implant Institute.
Jan is married and has three daughters. She also holds a certificate in massage therapy.
Michele is an administrative assistant for The Dental Implant Institute. Michele joined the Institute staff in 2004 and brings a unique knowledge of both the surgical phase of implant dentistry, as well as the administrative/insurance coverage aspects of dental implants. To assist our patients in making informed financial decisions about their dental care, Michele works together with many insurance companies in order to maximize our patient’s insurance coverage, and she is well versed in insurance coding .
Michele’s 21 years of experience in surgical assisting enables her to work with a patient’s medical doctor in obtaining clearance for implant surgery, and in customizing a patient's surgical care based on their medical history.
Michele has two adult children and four grandchildren.
